In Her Shoes - Meet the Women Who Inspire Our Soles
Share
I met Beth earlier this year at a networking event in New York City. We connected quickly through our common love for sparkly shoes, and I remembered her sitting across the large conference table from me, holding a pen with a big sparkling diamond perched on top. Beth was also the lucky winner of my birthday gift-away where she won a pair of my sparking rhinestone mesh ballet flats!
Tell us about your all-time favorite pair of shoes.
My all-time favorite pair of shoes and I recently took our last walk together. We walked for miles and miles before they became too tired to keep up with me. We went everywhere together: photo shoots, stages, coffee shops, dates, all sorts of adventures around NYC and beyond. The only activity we didn’t actually do together was hiking. They were 3 inch, nude colored mules by I.N.C.; perfect for dressing up in the evening or for a casual day. The upper part was clear with a rectangular rhinestone buckle on top. The heel itself flared out wider at the bottom, so they were very stable and comfortable to wear all day. Their memories will live on forever through all the photos we took. On a trip to Boston, I did a paint and sip in a park and even put them in my painting.

What’s your most cherished memory in a pair of shoes?
My very first pair of designer shoes were brown, suede platform Prada wedges . They were from that year's runway collection and I got them for the bargain price of $200 at the end of the season. I remember feeling like I won two lottery tickets. I also have a super fond memory of going with a good friend to Sarah Jessica Parker's (SJP) sample sale. This was a pair of green metallic stiletto sandals at that sample sale, calling my name. They are still the prettiest shoes in my closet.
Do you have a “power shoe”?
As a breakthrough keynote speaker before I deliver a killer talk, I put on a pair of killer heels. Wearing a high heel, preferably with sparkly embellishments boosts my confidence so I can give my absolute best to the audience.
Describe your shoe style in 3 words.

What’s the best piece of life advice you’d give to other women walking their own paths?
Best Life Advice: Stay curious! Curiosity is the secret for living your best life. Staying curious will help you to be happier, enjoy closer and stronger relationships, keep you physically healthier and overall you will have an easier time making it through challenges.
Best Shoe Advice: If the shoes you are considering purchasing are not comfortable when you try them on, they will never be comfortable. The secret to wearing heels with ease is they must feel okay when you first try them on.
What words of wisdom would you tell your younger self—one that you now carry in your shoes today?
Forgiveness is your superpower. Forgive right away. Forgiveness doesn't put you at risk of getting hurt again. The decisions you make after choosing to forgive are what you need to consider carefully.
